Settting to alert dinners near me.
I am in an area which doesn't currently host dinners which basically means I won't frequent the site. However, if the site stores my location, it could alert me of someone hosting a dinner near my area. This could potentially also might make the dinners more active. Also, having this sort of data would allow for further development such as a "Host needed" engine which would identify areas where there are members but no dinners/hosts.

Unregister capability needed
Once registered for a dinner, a user should be able to unregister. You might even allow for a comment or category concerning the reason for tracking trends.

Allow user to change their email with option to show/hide it
A user should be able to change their email address after registering, as well as have the option to show/hide the email from the public. This would probably be the first feature of a user profile/preferences page. Other profile items could include photos and other information user's would want to share about themselves.

use Entity Framework 4 for persistence
Entity Framework 4 is the new with many enhancements in .net 4. It seems is getting alot of push from Microsoft and will be a dominant persistence strategy. No real great tutorials exist for EF4, and it would be great to have an EF4 / ASP.NET MVC tutorial together.

show type of dinner: pot luck; restaurant; brown bag; usw
If its a price range, what can I expect to pay at some restaurant; pot luck is always good; what about attendees with special needs: halal; kosher; vegan; peanut allergy, et cetera.
You have START TIME but no END TIME.
Will there be a speaker? What about NO SMOKING? Will alcohol be available? What other things need to be added.
Type of food: Italian, Thai, Greek, et cetera.
BYOB??? Age limit, if applicable.
entertainment???
et cetera, et cetera, et cetera

Use email as username
Get rid of the username field, and just use email address instead. Who has time to remember usernames for every site they visit?

Organizers need to contact the attendees and vice-versa
Right now I have a dinner with a whole bunch of people registered with funky names that I don't if they are really coming or just testing the system. I need to call the restaurant to reserve space and I don't know how many (or if any) people is coming.

Remember password functionality
Add the ability for users (like me) to have their passwords sent to the email box, etc.

Default to USA.
Most of the site traffic will come from the USA. That should be the default country in the drop-down menu.

Remove the "name, website, email" while submitting a comment. These should be pulled from auth api.
Remove the "name, website, and email" while submitting a comment. These should be pulled from the subsequent application's authentication api's. Meaning, if I log in from my Google account, pull my name and email from that. Why have us type it in again?
More so, why is Disqous and Twitter not available to "login" with?

Suggestion: Zome level on Dinner Map
Issue:
The zoom level of map on Dinner event map is max zoomed in as default.Suggestion:
Set the zoom level a few settings zoomed out from the current default to give guests perspective of dinner location. (bad locations excluded by default ;) Extra credit: Allow the host to set the default zoom level. :)11 votes -
allow ND to use Google Maps for an event
Since Bing Maps doesn't work with countries on the edge of the world map (like New Zealand) allow the usage of a Google Map for a particular entry where Bing Maps don't work
